Groundbreaking Digital Learning Connects Curriculum, Lesson Planning, and e-Portfolio District Wide

Major technological advances led by faculty at Rhode Island School of Design and other industry experts are creating a massive impact on art and design education across the U.S. In this presentation learn how educators in Shawnee Mission, Kansas are taking advantage of new web based tools to support supervisors, educators, and students in teaching and learning art and design. These tools provide incredible opportunities beginning with 24/7 access to art and design curriculum created by leading authors in the field. Educators can build and customize lesson plans from published curriculum along with their own lessons and studios. Educators can share lessons, studios, and resources with each other as well as students in and outside of class. They can create online discussions with district supervisors and other educators for support and professional development. An integrated media rich e-Portfolio system is used to showcase and document student work.
